Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 19, 2026
Ayuni ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Yaal Tevet, the individual developer of the Ayuni mobile application ("App"), collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use our App. By using Ayuni, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Who We Are
Ayuni is developed and operated by Yaal Tevet, a private individual developer based in Israel. For any privacy-related inquiries, contact us at: tim@ayuniapp.com
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account:
- Full name
- Email address
- Gender (used to personalise message tone and style)
2.2 Relationship Contact Information
To provide the App's core functionality, you may voluntarily provide information about people you wish to stay in touch with. For each contact (recipient) you add, we may store:
- Name and nicknames
- Relationship to you (e.g., friend, parent, partner)
- Gender (used to personalise generated messages; this is personal data relating to a third party that you are responsible for providing with their knowledge)
- Age or birthdate
- Phone number (optional)
- Personal context notes and writing style samples you provide
2.3 AI Generation Logs
Each time the App generates a message, we create a temporary log record (stored in our database under promptLogs) that contains the inputs and outputs of that generation, including relationship context, the system prompt used, and the generated message text. These logs are used solely for debugging and service quality purposes and are automatically deleted after 30 days.
2.4 Usage and Analytics Data
With your consent (requested during onboarding), we collect anonymised usage data via Firebase Analytics, including:
- Login method and session frequency
- Message generation count and regeneration count
- Feature interactions and screen views
- Device type and operating system version
Analytics collection is optional. You may opt out at any time in the App's settings.
2.5 What We Do NOT Collect
We do not directly collect or store payment information. All subscription payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) on their platforms, subject to their respective privacy policies. We receive only a confirmation that a purchase was made.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To provide and operate the App's core functionality (generating personalised relationship messages)
- To manage your account and subscription status
- To improve and optimise the App's performance and user experience
- To send important service communications (e.g., subscription changes, technical notices)
- To deliver data export emails when you request a copy of your data
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not use your data to show you advertising. We do not sell your personal data to any third party. Your data is not used to train AI models by OpenAI or any other provider.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (EU/EEA Users — GDPR)
- Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the App services you have requested
- Legitimate interests: Temporary AI generation logging for debugging and service quality, where your interests and rights do not override ours (logs deleted after 30 days)
- Consent: Firebase Analytics usage tracking — you may withdraw consent at any time in the App's settings
5. Third-Party Services and Data Processors
The App uses the following third-party processors. Each handles your data subject to their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore Database) — used for account management and data storage. Data is processed under Google's Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers.
- Firebase Analytics — used for optional, consent-gated usage analytics. Only activated if you consent during onboarding.
- OpenAI (GPT-4.1-mini) — used to generate personalised message suggestions based on the relationship context you provide. We operate under OpenAI's standard API terms, under which your data is not used to train OpenAI's models. We do not transmit your name, email, or account credentials to OpenAI.
- RevenueCat — used to manage subscription status and entitlements across iOS and Android platforms. RevenueCat receives a user identifier and subscription event data.
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store — handle all subscription billing and payment processing on their respective platforms.
- Privateemail.com (Namecheap) — used solely to deliver data export emails when you request a copy of your personal data via the App.
We do not share your data with advertisers or third-party marketers.
6. Data Retention
- Account and relationship data: Retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, this data is deleted within 30 days.
- Message history: Kept for 30 days by default. Premium users may retain all history.
- AI generation logs (promptLogs): Automatically deleted after 30 days regardless of account status.
- Analytics data: Retained per Google Firebase's data retention settings (default 14 months for Firebase Analytics).
7. International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where our third-party service providers operate. Where required by law (e.g., GDPR), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission.

10. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS). All data is stored on Google Firebase servers, which encrypt data at rest using AES-256. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this policy and, where required by law, by providing in-app notification. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
